Both parties in a $5 million dog bite lawsuit are seeking additional time to prepare their cases.
The plaintiffs in the case, a married couple, filed a motion for continuance, which would extend the case for another 120 days. They are suing the owner of Concourse Body Shop after the shop’s guard dog attacked one of them.
The shop’s owner said they were at the shop after hours and that “any defect of the premises, if any, was open and obvious.” Both sides now have additional time to build their cases, which can prove incredibly valuable in a case with such high stakes and allows more time for them to reach an out-of-court settlement.
